California Department of Motor Vehicles Mandated
requirements
and Homeland Driving School Student Standards.
We realize that the decision to choose a driving school
for your teen is one of the most important decisions you will make.
We are committed to prepare your teenager with the fundamentals they
need to drive safely. We take our business seriously because we,
as parents, know how precious our young people are and how vulnerable
they can be on the road without valuable training.
Therefore, we have expectations from the
students as well as from you (their parent or guardian). There are
also specific requirements given to us by the California Department of
Motor Vehicles (DMV). The following rules outlined by the DMV are
as follows: ● Students must have 1500 minutes (30 hours) of Driver's
Education. ● Students must have a minimum of 6 hours of Driver's
Training (behind the wheel instruction) by a
licensed driving instructor.
● Students must have an additional 50 Hours behind-the-wheel
experience from their parents or guardians
prior to taking their driver's license
test.
● Upon completion of 30 hours class training
(fourth day), we will issue the student a certificate to
present to the DMV enabling them to
take the test for their driving learners permit. The DMV
will charge a fee. Students
must take with them their birth certificate, social security number, our
certificate and their application
(for which both parents must sign).
Homeland Driving School training and class
standards, requirements and guidelines.
● Classroom hours
are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm sharp.
● Students will receive a certificate upon
completion of this course and the DMV will not allow them to
take the drive test without it. If
the student loses this certificate we will issue another one at the
additional charge of $10.00.
● Students have 6 months to
complete this entire course. Any student who has not completed the
1500
minutes of class room education and 6 hours
of behind-the-wheel training during this time period will
not receive a certificate of completion
without paying the driving fee again.
● Refunds are up to the discretion of the
management.
● If the student has to cancel their scheduled
appointment a notice of 24 hours must be given prior to
that time or parents agree to pay an
additional sum of $80.00. This will cover the cost of the driver
and
his/her expenses.
● Students must display respectful behavior in
the class room and the car. We will not allow any foul
language, back talk or similar disruptions
(i.e., excessive/loud talking, horseplay, tardiness, etc...).
If the student refuses to comply, his/her
parents will be called and the student will not be allowed to
return to the classroom.
● Students will also be required to pay the
damages for any book or classroom item they damage.
● No walkman's, hand-held games, cell phones or
pagers are allowed to be used during class times.
● We reserve the right to refuse service to
anyone.
Again, we are
dedicated to serving you and your student! We hope that you select
us as your driving school and we promise to treat you and your student
with the utmost care and respect! Feel free to contact us through our
contact information, feedback form and map location page
or by telephone
with any questions or concerns you might have regarding your student
driver's education and training needs.
